At the December RTM meeting (Dec. 19th) there are two Board of Education contracts that are up for a vote. One is for the teacher's union and the other is for the administrator's union. Below you will find three documents for each. The letter by the BoE requesting the items be put on the agenda, the full copy of the contract up for a vote, and a memorandum with highlights on the contract. For most, the highlights will be the best page to start off at as it outlines our costs and savings from different items negotiated.
I've added these through a box.net window so if you have any issues viewing them, please send me an email and I'll forward by email. I'm also curious as to your thoughts and am also available to answer any questions you may have about these contracts or the negotiating, approval, or potential arbitration processes.
One point to highlight which causes confusion is the wording of the resolution. A "no" vote is essentially to approve the contract. A "yes" vote is to turn it down. That is because state statute asks us if we want to "reject" the contract, not if we want to approve it. By statute, if we do nothing at all then the contract is automatically approved.
